I Am Strong

Sexual Assault: What Reporting Options do I have?
Restricted reporting allows a Soldier who is sexually assaulted to confidentially disclose the details of his/her assault to one or all of the following individuals: Chaplain, Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), Victim Advocate, and/or healthcare providers and receive medical treatment and counseling without triggering the criminal investigative process. If you disclose to anyone other than these individuals, your report is unrestricted. You may change your report to unrestricted within
one year.
Unrestricted reporting allows a Soldier who is sexually assaulted and desires medical treatment, counseling, and an official investigation of his/her allegation to use current reporting channels (e.g., chain of command, law enforcement, the SARC or the victim advocate).
