The Aquatic Center is in Building 462, adjacent to the Community Center and offers a 25-meter, eight lane pool plus a 24-foot diameter children's pool. The main pool depth is 3.5 feet at the shallow end and 12 feet at the deep end. The water temperature is kept at 80-82°, perfect for training and recreational swimming. There are 1 and 3 meter diving boards, water basketball, inner tubes and water polo equipment. The center features two sun decks with lounge chairs and tables, perfect for birthday and private parties. The Aquatics Center also gives time to Active Duty Military PT reservation time free of charge.

Soldier Lifeguard Training Program
This course will prepare and provide entry‐level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

Pre-requisite Testing Date & Time: Friday, 17 January, 2014 at 1200-1300
Course Dates and Times: Tuesday, 21 January – Friday, 24 January from 0900-1700 (daily)
All candidates must successfully pass the pre-requisite skills testing prior to taking the class!
Must be Active Duty Military or Soldier looking to secure a lifeguard certification
Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing.
o Candidates may swim using the free style, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
o Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
o Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water.
o Surface dive, feet‐first or head‐first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10‐pound object.
o Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates should not swim the distance under water.
o Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
