The Auto Skills Center is located at Building 1430 at the corner of Aberdeen and Dyer Streets. The facility is set up for self-help auto maintenance, but also has qualified automotive professionals to perform maintenance and service repairs. The facility has all the tools and equipment needed for minor service or major repairs, four lifts and four open bays. Available technical equipment includes a brake-drum lathe, front-end alignment rack, engine analyzer, tire changing and wheel balancing machines, alternator and starter test equipment, plus a variety of manuals for most American and foreign cars. There are fees for the use of the facility and equipment. Service fees are charged for mechanical services performed.
The Auto Skills Center also has a self-service wash. The car wash is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On-post towing of passenger cars is available for a nominal fee. There is also a small resale store in the center and parts can be special ordered.
